Marquee

The Marquee oddly derived from the French ‘Marquise’, meaning a canopy covering the entrance to a theatre. In English, marquise was considered to be a plural and hence the singular ‘marquee’ appeared, probably about 300 years ago. That is the reason why the large tent is called a marquee.

The marquee has never been out of fashion and bigger, brighter and more extravagant celebrations and functions are held in them than ever before.

They are a highly practical proposition and what’s more, they add an air of excitement to any occasion.

A marquee on the lawn or in the park is a stylish and easy solution for many different events. As well as organising the smaller traditional events, we can also cater for university graduations, company family days, lunchtime entertaining, product launches, steam fairs and agricultural shows.

We aim to put your guests at ease, with the marquee complementing the setting as well as providing reassuring cover from the elements.

The traditional marquee still offers the best solution to many situations. Because a traditional marquee is secured by guy ropes, 5ft either side of the marquee needs to be allowed.

This type of marquee is the Number One choice for Weddings, as the centre poles become mounts for an imaginative florist to decorate.
